I work on the philosophy of mind and the ethics of emerging technology, especially immersive technology such as virtual reality. My research is interdisciplinary, drawing from psychology and neuroscience. In February of 2016, Thomas Metzinger and I published the first code of ethics for research and consumer use of VR, which has received widespread media attention. In addition to the ethics of technology, I have also published widely in the philosophy of perception, including a book, Visual Phenomenology, now available to order from MIT Press. See here for a review of the book.
I am available for consulting or collaboration on projects involving immersive technology. Please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
